My car blew up a week ago and I can't seem to get anyone to finance me on anything halfway reliable...which makes sense because I am filing bankruptcy since I am in about $200,000. in debt. I was doing great until several years ago but my daughter was diagnosed with severe Autism...I lost everything (my house, my car, my otherhalf, my job, my friends, and a good portion of my sanity...) in the domino effect b/c the only medical (medicaid) and services available required and forced us into total poverty! And, because the propery I owned is in Florida and I now live in NY, legal aid will not help me in either place!!! I am now on disability and my child is on SSI, we live in low income housing, and we have 0 assets. I recently recieved my backpay after winning my disability pay, days after my car blew up. Now I am petrified to buy a reliable vehicle which I would have to buy with that cash, because I am scared the court/trustee will take it from us. We desperatley need good/reliable transportation (my daughter has other health issues, had open heart surgery, specialists, docs, therapists, hospitalizations-she has chromosomal defects/disabilities as well- and I need to continue my docs & therapists). Should I use my check to buy a good car or is the government going to rape us out of that too????????? ~sorry, just extremely frustrated! I want to file bankruptcy soon.
