		<description>You make a good point, on the grand scheme of things, $8,000 in comparison to a purchase price of $600,000 is really nothing but a dent.  However, you fail to mention that it&#039;s an $8,000 credit, which puts money in your pocket today, as opposed to being amortized over the life of the loan.  I don&#039;t remember all the Present Value formulas, but $8,000 today is a lot more meaningful than a purchase price of $600K - $8K = $592K.</description>

		<description>Not that the 8,000 will make or break your ability to buy a house, but I didn&#039;t know if you were aware that you don&#039;t have to pay 8,000 in income tax to get the credit. It is a credit versus a tax deduction.I still just have a huge problem penalising the responsible while rewarding the irresponsible.
