Thanksgiving wishes from Brooklyn Bankruptcy Lawyer Daniel Gershburg, Esq.

This year has been phenomenal for us.  We’ve grown by leaps and bounds.  We’ve been featured in mymoneyblog.com, Inc.com, the New York Law Journal, as well as many other sites.  Our clients are happy.  We added a new associate (Danielle Spallino) and we’ve opened a New Jersey office.  But most of that means nothing when you don’t have friends or family to share it with.  I know that many of you out there may have lost your job in the past several years.  Maybe you’ve lost your home or are in the process of foreclosure.  Same with cars, etc.  I know it doesn’t look like there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, but there is.  This is cyclical.  You’ll get a job again.  You’ll get a house again.  You’ll get a car (which may or may not break down like mine did last week, again).  The important part is through all of this we step back and assess our lives and realize that we are lucky in one way or another.   That, no matter how hard the financial circumstances, we still all have something to be thankful for.

I’m reminded time and again that my law office is just not another business.  Another way to make income.  I know the perceptions that many people have of attorneys, and I understand.  However, each time someone comes in to file for Bankruptcy with us, that person has their own story, their own concerns, their own wishes and dreams.  They need to file to start anew.  To start “fresh” (as cliche as that sounds).  I’d like to thank you clients for reminding me of the importance of what it is that we do here.  I’d like to thank you for continuously choosing us to help you file for Bankruptcy.  Look, would I see more smiling faces if I ran a practice devoted to Yacht Law…probably.  But I wouldn’t trade this in for anything, and I would to thank you all for that.  Have a very happy and healthy and safe and prosperous Thanksgiving to all of you.
